The Blooming Prairie girls basketball team edged out New Richland-HEG (8-4 overall, 3-2 Gopher) 56-54 on the road Tuesday.

BP led 29-12 to start the game, but the Panthers led for most of the second half and they held a 50-46 lead with three minutes left. Sam Wurst drove for a lay-up and McKenna Hein hit a jump shot to tie the game up and eighth grader Bobbie Bruns hit a three-pointer to put BP up 53-51.

Hein hit two free throws to ice the game for the Awesome Blossoms (8-2 overall, 5-1 Gopher).
