Man pleads guilty to threatening woman

Jacob Richard Greenback, 22, of Austin pleaded guilty on Friday in Mower County District Court to felony terroristic threats as part of a plea agreement. Charges of gross misdemeanor domestic assault, gross misdemeanor fifth-degree assault, and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal damage to property were dismissed.

Greenback was arrested on Oct. 22 after arguing with a woman at a residence in the 600 block of Fifth Street Northwest. She said that when she entered her vehicle, he threatened to break the window and kill her.

While the woman spoke to the police, an officer heard Greenback threaten to kill her, according to the criminal complaint.

Greenback has a prior conviction for domestic assault.

In Minnesota, felony terroristic threats carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Greenback will be sentenced on April 6.
