Hormel cards through the years

Published 10:48 am Sunday, December 24, 2017

Tis the season for sending good tidings to friends and family in the form of a card.

In these days of somewhat impersonal electronic greetings, it is always fun to get a festive holiday card in the mail.

We have several examples of cards sent by the Hormels which included portraits and pictures of their California retirement life. Merry Christmas from the Hormel Historic Home and from George and Lillian Hormel.

“Ye goode olde tyme Christmass Greetings”
Mr. and Mrs. George A. Hormel, 1935

“The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the bird for mirth,
You are nearer God’s heart in a garden,
Than anywhere else on earth.”
“The Season’s Greetings — Mr. and Mrs. George A. Hormel”

“With all good wishes for a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.”
