The Austin City Council will be voting Monday on whether to raise the base wage from $9.50 to $9.65 per hour for seasonal, temporary and part-time city employees.
The resolution, which includes wage ranges for Level I, II, and III positions, will take effect Jan. 1, 2018, if it passes.
The resolution also allows for supervisors to pay less than minimum wage for any newly hired seasonal, temporary or part-time
employees working Level III special services positions, provided the wage does not go below the Minnesota minimum wage of $7.75 per hour.
The Council will also adopt resolutions setting plans, qualifications and rates for city health insurance in 2018 and insurance plans and required employee contribution for employees not covered by negotiated labor agreements.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, in the Council Chambers in the basement of City Hall.
A work session will be held in the conference room across the hall immediately following the meeting.
