Bruins notch seventh consecutive win; Four third-period goals all come on powerplays

The Austin Bruins made the Bismarck Bobcats pay for a lay rash of penalties as they chugged forward for their seventh-straight win, 8-6 on the road Saturday night.

All four of the Bruins’ final goals came on power plays, two of those coming from Evan Cholak.

The 14-combined goal-scoring came quickly as Bismarck took a 4-2 into the second period where goals from newcomer Dante Sheriff and Dan Patrick tied the game with goals at 1:24 and 11:14 of the period.

The shot count was lopsided in Austin’s favor, 31-18. Alex Schilling and Mads Sogaard split time in the net with Schilling stopping five of the six shots he faced and Sogaard stopping seven of the 11 shots he faced.
