Author Chad Lewis will return to the Austin Public Library for another presentation — this time about creepy monsters.

“Get ready for a bizarre night full of scary creatures,” Lewis warns. “From vampires to werewolves, to sea serpents and ghosts, I have put together one creepy presentation.”

Lewis will begin his presentation at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, and the event is free and open to all ages.

Lewis has made several appearances at the library, from subjects ranging from UFOs to haunted places to the gangster years in Minnesota.

“As the author of numerous books on the supernatural and folklore, I have put together some of my most terrifying and unusual stories of my travels to discover the world’s most mysterious creatures,” he said.

Lewis will take his audience on a visual journey to remote areas of the world where monsters are said to lurk. He invites you to explore gruesome tales of vampires coming back from the dead, aliens abducting humans, deadly sea serpents, and werewolves prowling the countryside. From all corners of the earth to your own backyard, no place is safe from these legends.

For over two decades Lewis has traveled the back roads of the world in search of the strange and unusual. From tracking vampires in Transylvania and searching for the elusive monster of Loch Ness to trailing the dangerous Tata Duende through remote villages of Belize and searching for ghosts in Ireland’s haunted castles, he has scoured the earth in search of the paranormal.

Lewis has been featured on the Discovery Channel’s “A Haunting,” William Shatner’s “Weird or What,” ABC’s “Scariest Places on Earth,” “Monsters and Mysteries in America” and “Beyond Belief,” along with being a frequent contributor on “Ripley’s Believe it or Not” Radio. He holds a master’s degree in psychology and has authored over 20 books on the supernatural. He extensively lectures on his findings he finds fascinating — and the more bizarre the legend, the more likely it is that you will find him there, he says.
