Hayfield boys drop opener to Dover-Eyota

The Hayfield boys basketball team lost its season opener to Dover-Eyota (1-0 overall) by a score of 60-41 on the road Thursday.
The Vikings (0-1 overall) used an 18-4 run to tie the game at 32-32 early in the second half, but the Eagles responded with a 9-0 run to go back up 41-32.
It was the first major varsity action for much of Hayfield’s roster as Mason Tapp and Luke Dudycha each scored 14 points.
“It was a tight game and then we went in a little scoring funk,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said.
