A couple involved in a disturbance on Sept. 20 appeared on Tuesday in Mower County District Court.
Raul Eduardo Pena Calidonio, 34, of Austin pleaded guilty to felony terroristic threats as part of a plea agreement. Charges of felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and felony possession of stolen property will be dropped at sentencing.
Calidonio’s wife, Jenssy Fabiola Mejia, 31, of Austin pleaded guilty to gross misdemeanor possession of stolen property as part of a plea agreement. She initially pleaded not guilty on Oct. 5.
According to the court complaint, officers responded to a call at 10:02 p.m. on Sept. 20 of a man entering a residence in the 1400 block of 10th Avenue Southwest with an automatic firearm.
A male resident told police that Calidonio brandished and cocked a black firearm while they were arguing over money Calidonio owed him. He said the firearm looked like a 9 millimeter and that Calidonio pointed it at him.
The man told police Calidonio’s vehicle, a GMC Acadia, had no front license plate and a fake Minnesota plate on the rear. Police later learned the vehicle was reported stolen in Kansas City, Missouri, last November.
Officers made contact with the two behind Calidonio’s residence. They denied having the GMC Acadia.
An officer found the vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 1100 block of Second Avenue Southwest. Paperwork in the vehicle indicated it belonged to Mejia.
In Minnesota, felony terroristic threats carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Gross misdemeanor possession of stolen property carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $3,000 fine.
