Students collect almost 2,000 pounds of food for Salvation Army

Austin High School students did more than simply celebrate Homecoming two weeks ago — they also collected food for those in the community.
Instructor Emily Hovland said the Salvation Army reported that students gathered 1,896 pounds of food in their Battle of the Connects food drive.
