Hayfield knocks off Lyle-Pacelli

The No. 1 seeded Hayfield volleyball team swept No. 8 Lyle-Pacelli (10-16 overall) by scores of 25-10, 25-20, 25-16 in a Section 1A West quarterfinal in Hayfield Thursday.

Carrie Rutledge had 14 kills and 14 digs for the Vikings (23-5 overall), who will play No. 4 Grand Meadow in Mayo Civic Center in Rochester Saturday at 1 p.m.

“It is good to start the post-season at home and with a victory,” Hayfield head coach Jeremy Struck said. “We played well enough to win, but will need to improve as we get deeper in to playoffs.”
