DeLoris Jean Steward, 92

DeLoris Jean Steward, 92, of Austin, Minnesota, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin.

DeLoris was born April 16, 1925, at Northwood, Iowa, the daughter of Ole and Ruth (Larson) Anderson. She graduated from Austin High School in 1943. Her first husband, William Olson, Sr. died in the Philippines during World War II. DeLoris was married to Maurice C. Steward on Aug. 24, 1946, at Spring Valley, Minnesota. She worked as a waitress at Lansing Corners and Tommy’s Supper Club, and she worked with Kermit Watts on catering food for Hormel.

DeLoris enjoyed knitting and crocheting and she liked to cook. She loved spending time with her family.

DeLoris is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, William and Linda Olson, Ft. Myers, Florida, and Tyrone and Suzanne Steward, Rochester, Minnesota; daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Bob Hoffman, Austin, and Kim and Didicus Guzman, Austin; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Delphia Srsen, Austin; brother, Gerald Anderson, Austin; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Ruth Anderson; husband, Maurice Steward; son, Bud Steward; grandson, Chadwick Thompson; great-grandson, Brandon Olson; sisters, Mildred Lee, Kay Daly and Lorraine Anderson; and brothers, George Anderson, Duwayne Anderson and LuVern Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Elizabeth Endicott officiating. Inurnment will be at the London Deer Creek Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
