Conrad Ray to be inducted into national hall of fame

Stanford men’s golf coach and Austin native Conrad Ray will be honored Dec. 11 when he is inducted into the National Golf Coaches Hall of Fame during their annual meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ray has been a fixture for Stanford golf for over a decade, guiding the Cardinals to 11 trips to the NCAA championships. Stanford has also collected three Pac-12 titles under Ray’s guidence and four NCAA regional crowns according to a press release on the Stanford’s men’s golf page.
In 2007 he was the Dave Williams National Coach of the Year and a two-time Pac-12 Coach of the Year the release said.
Ray himself played golf for the Cardinals, graduating in 1997. Ray took over as head coach for the 2004-05 season and in that season guided Stanford to its first NCAA championship since 2001.
Ray is son of Gary and Pat Ray of Austin. His wife is Jennifer and they have three daughters — Ella, Emerson and Jillian.
Ray also has a weekly radio show on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio called Golf “U.”
