The LeRoy-Ostrander volleyball team overcame a slow start in the first game to beat Glenville-Emmons (0-4 overall, 0-4 SEC) by scores of 17-25, 25-18, 25-13, 25-13 in LeRoy Thursday.

Lauren Helgeson had nine kills and 10 blocks to lead the Cardinals (2-2 overall, 2-1 SEC).

“The girls played well after the first game,” LO head coach Missy McElroy said. “They really wanted to win and it was pretty exciting to see. They got the fans going and that kind of pushed us to work a little bit harder.”
