Mallissia Kaye Carlson, 45, of Grand Meadow was charged with two counts of felony second-degree assault with a deadly weapon and felony terroristic threats on Tuesday in Mower County District Court.
She was arrested on Saturday after allegedly threatening to shoot people with a BB gun.
According to the court report, a Mower County deputy and Grand Meadow police officer were dispatched at 9:36 a.m. on Saturday to the 300 block of First Street Southwest in Grand Meadow. They met with a woman and three juvenile girls. The woman was sitting on the curb crying. The officer spoke to one of the girls, who said Carlson had pointed a gun at the four of them. Another girl said Carlson threatened to “blow all your brains out.”
The incident was the culmination of many arguments that had occurred during the day.
The officer spoke to Carlson, who said she and the “girls” had had an argument earlier in the day and that she wanted to discuss the matter “more peacefully.”
She said she and her spouse did not want one of the girls coming around and that she got the gun to protect herself when the four of them were in her yard.
She told them to get off her lawn, but denied pointing the gun at anyone.
The officer then spoke to the woman, who said she had learned two of the girls had been arguing with Carlson earlier that day and there had been a series of text messages between the parties.
She said Carlson asked to talk to her and one
of the girls and pointed the gun at them when they arrived at her residence.
The third girl told the officer the woman and one of the girls had been invited by Carlson to talk. Carlson then said, “Let me go get my gun real quick,” then came out of the garage and pointed the gun at them.
Carlson’s initial appearance is scheduled for Oct. 30.
