Get to Know: BP volleyball player McKenna Hein

McKenna Hein is a senior volleyball player Blooming Prairie.

Q: What sports do you compete in?

A: Volleyball, basketball, and softball.

Q: How did you originally get into volleyball?

A: My friends and I all participated in a summer camp at the school, that’s when we fell in love with the sport.  

Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?

A: Beating WEM in a buzzer beater shot during basketball season, and the bus rides.  

Q: What have you learned from sports?

A: That hard work really does pay off.

Q: What is the hardest part about volleyball?

A: Making sure we communicate as a team.  

Q: Who is your biggest sports role model and why?

A: The Tapp twins, or Rachel Banham. All three of those people have worked really hard to be able to achieve the things that they have, and it inspires me to do the same.      

Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?

A: Greys Anatomy or The Best of Me. 

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: English or Science(depending on what class)

Q: What is your dream job?

A: To be a trauma surgeon. 

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Tacos!!  

Q: What are your plans after high school?

A: After high school, I plan to attend a four year college and go for either Pre-med or elementary education, and I’d like to minor in Spanish. I’d also love to play basketball in college. 

Q: What’s a fun fact about you or hobby you enjoy most people don’t know about?

A: I collect sea shells. 

Q: What are your top three pump songs before a big game?

A: ‘Getcha head in the game,’ ‘My House,’ ‘Glamorous.’ 

Q: What are your top three guilty pleasure songs?

A: ‘Small town boy,’ ‘Party in the USA’ and ‘I don’t want this night to end.’
