The pastor who founded Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin has died.

The Rev. Glennys C. Knutson, 95, died Tuesday in New Brighton, Minn., where he and his wife, Margaret, have lived since moving from Austin in 2014.

Knutson, a native of Radcliffe, Iowa, was called to Austin in 1953 to establish a church. A congregation was formed and a building for the church began later that year. Knutson went on to serve Our Savior’s for the next 30 years.

Services will be held Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
