“One generation plants the trees, the next gets the shade.”

— Chinese proverb
True to the proverb, as we move up the ladder of generations, it becomes clearer that our life’s work is tilling the path and planting the opportunities for those that follow us.

We all have the opportunity to lead in new directions and build new relationships, to sustain positive paths, to support growth, everyday!

Thank you to the leaders, sustainers and supporters that are planting the trees of enrichment for the students of the Austin Public Schools, through their support of the Austin Public Education Foundation. You are the roots of the Austin Public Education Foundation’s mission; to enrich learning for our students!

You make the Austin PEF grants an effective, sustainable and growing resource, to fulfill student needs and support teacher innovation.

Together, you raised over $23,000 through this year’s Austin PEF-Packer Classic fundraiser. Your generous contributions will go directly toward expanding the opportunities available to the students of the Austin Public Schools, through the Austin PEF grants, to be awarded this spring.

Since first planting the Austin Public Education Foundation grants in 1992, over $440,000 has been awarded, to provide teachers with the tools to impact and inspire their students, at all seven Austin Public Schools as well as at the Community Learning Center and the Oakland Education Center.

Your cultivation of giving, has supplied the books and materials, the new technology and the ground level resources for the innovative programs that are supplementing the development of Austin’s students, into the next generation of community planners and planters.
