Austin volleyball team picks up a win at Mankato tournament

The Austin volleyball team went 1-3 and it finished second in its pool in the Mankato tournament Saturday.
Austin lost to Mankato West 23-25, 25-23, 15-3, it beat United South Central 25-15, 25-23, it lost to Minnesota Valley Lutheran 25-17, 19-25, 16-14 and it fell to St. Peter 25-21, 28-26.
Jordyn McCormack had 18 kills for the Packers (2-10 overall) and Jenna Braaten had 16 kills and 41 set assists.
“We were in every game,” Austin head coach Cindy Owen said. “We played consistently throughout the day which is a huge plus for us. I am very proud of the way the girls battled every match.”
