A woman who allegedly used another person’s credit cards for unauthorized transactions pleaded not guilty on Thursday in Mower County District Court.
Tashonda Shenay Thomas, 25, of Austin pleaded not guilty to felony financial transaction card fraud — use without consent and felony financial transaction card fraud — use forged/false/fictitious card.
According to the court report, Austin police were tipped off about the card fraud from a Maple Grove woman who said someone with an Austin address was using her credit card and T.J. Maxx account to make purchases and pay bills.
The address allegedly matched Thomas’s address. Police executed a search warrant for her residence and seized three store credit cards, a Wells Fargo Platinum debit card issued to Thomas, a credit card with the name and address of a person in Garden City, Michigan, a Gap letter for credit card activation for a woman in Austin and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.
Thomas told police that “the cards kept coming,” but she did not use them.
Her pre-trial is scheduled for Dec. 1.
