State Capitol grand opening celebration Aug. 11-13

ST. PAUL — The grand opening of the restored Minnesota State Capitol will include a Minnesota-music themed fireworks show on Saturday, Aug. 12. The fireworks will be synced to a soundtrack of 17 songs by 17 Minnesota artists.

The fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m. following the free Cloud Cult and Poliça concert on the front lawn of the State Capitol building.

The grand opening celebration will last three days, from Aug. 11-13. It will include a diverse mix of music, dance and presentations. There are activities for people of all ages on the Capitol grounds. Check out details and download your free transit pass at mn.gov/mymncapitol.
