The Austin girls soccer team got off to a slow start as it lost to Rochester John Marshall (1-1 overall, 1-0 Big Nine) 7-0 on the road Thursday.
The Rockets scored in the eighth second of the game and they held a 6-0 lead at halftime.
“At halftime it was discussed that we need to stop worrying about what other teams are doing and focus on ourselves,” Austin head coach Jake Levisen said. “We came out with fire in the second half. It would’ve been great to see that fire in the first half. It comes down to living up to their ability and trusting their ability.”
Austin (0-2 overall, 0-1 Big Nine) will hold its home opener when it hosts Winona 7 p.m. Tuesday.
