Jodie L. Dufner, 48

Jodie L. Dufner, 48, of Austin, Minnesota, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at her home in Austin following a courageous battle against breast cancer.

Jodie Lyn was born Feb. 14, 1969, in Rochester, New York, to Jeffrey and Lois (Toth) Reid. During her youth her family lived in Plano, Texas, and El Paso, Texas.  Jodie was united in marriage to Jeffrey Dufner in Austin, Texas. They were blessed with three beautiful children. Jodie and Jeff later divorced. Jodie moved with her children to Rochester, Minnesota, for health reasons of one of her children, and to be close to her mother. She began working in the jewelry business in Rochester, and eventually moved her way up to store management in Burnsville, Minnesota. Jodie also provided home health care in the Rochester area. She enjoyed horror movies, Scrabble, going to the casino, and dancing.  She had the opportunity to dance with the Rockettes during a half-time show at college football’s Sun Bowl. Jodie was a very spiritual and loving person, and her children were her pride and joy.

She is survived by her children, Lindsey (Daniel) Slowinski of Austin, Cody (Olivia) Dufner of Carthage, New York, and Lauren Dufner of Austin; her mother, Lois Reid of Rochester; father, Jeffrey (Cheri) Reid of Myrtle, Beach, South Carolina; sister, Kim (Charles) Kolinek, and nephew, Justin Kolinek, of Taylor, Texas. Jodie was excited about the expected arrival of her first grandchild, Jaxtyn to be born Dec. 21, 2017. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
