Emily Elizabeth DeVriendt, 91, of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at the Cedars of Austin Memory Care.

Emily was born Aug. 18, 1925, in London Township, Freeborn County, Minnesota, to Josef and Wilhelmina (Kopp) Hrabak. She was married to Vincent A. DeVriendt for 64 years.  Together they raised four children who were the center of her life. Emily was a lifelong member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Her faith was strong and her generosity knew no bounds. Those who knew her were touched by her kindness and gentle spirit. Emily will be missed by many.

Survivors include three children, Vincent J. (Laura) DeVriendt, Poolesville, Maryland, Robert (Dawn) DeVriendt, Austin, and Vanessa (Colin) Keller, Minnetonka, Minnesota; 11 grandsons, Damian, Donald, Andrew, Jonathan, Jason, Rodney, Christopher, Jesse, and Casey DeVriendt, Anthony and Joe Keller; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent; son, Daniel; grandson, Alex DeVriendt; brother, Joe Hrabak; and sisters, Mary Ann Rezac and Vlasta Johnson.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Raul Silva officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church on Monday.  Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
