Eleanor L. Anderson, 96

Eleanor L. Anderson, 96, of Austin, Minnesota, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, at St. Marks Health Care Center. 

Eleanor was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Amherst, South Dakota, to Henry and Christina (Rademacher) Alberts. She grew up and attended school in South Dakota. On June, 30, 1937, she married Edward Anderson in Mason City, Iowa. She worked at the Hormel plant for 34 years.

She and Ed were lifelong members of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. They enjoyed traveling to Edinburg, Texas, for the winters and fishing in the summers on Lake Mille Lacs. Eleanor loved to do puzzles and crafts, watch the Minnesota Twins, play cards and go to the Moose Club to play 500 with her friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Gayle Paulson, Austin; granddaughter and husband, Sheryl and David Greening, Eden Prairie, Minnesota; grandson and friend, Mark Paulson and Karen Salm, Green Bay, Wisconsin; great grandchildren, Christine and Michael Nelson, Golden Valley, Minnesota, Kevin Greening  and  fiancée Sarah Dewitt, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Noah Paulson, Green Bay; sister, Lois Schmitt, Austin; many nieces and nephews; and good friends, Millie Whitcomb and Joan Stanek, Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Anderson (Nov. 30, 2001); brother, Ernie; sisters, Grace, Anna, Beulah, Helen, Pearl and Roselee.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Reverend Susan Rector Li officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Casket bearers will be Kevin Greening, Christine Nelson, Michael Nelson, Noah Paulson, Danny Joseph and Doug Schuler.

Memorials may be designated to the St. Olaf Lutheran Church Building Fund or the donor’s choice.
