Austin Utilities honored for excellence in operations

Austin Utilities received bronze level System Operational Achievement Recognition for excellence in operating its natural gas utility from the American Public Gas Association at its 2017 annual conference.
The APGA Operations and Safety Committee based the selection on excellence in the four
areas of system integrity, system improvement, employee safety, and workforce development.
APGA President and CEO Bert Kalisch said: “Austin Utilities was
highly rated in all four areas that are required of SOAR. Austin Utilities consistently demonstrates a commitment to providing natural gas safely and efficiently to all those in their community and as such, serves as a model for all other natural gas utilities in the country.”
Austin Utilities was one of 13 SOAR recipients recognized at the conference in San Francisco on July 24.
