Police are reminding citizens to lock the doors of their residences after a burglary Friday morning.

According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, police responded to a burglary call at 3:29 a.m. on Friday on the 1400 block of Fifth Street Northwest.

The victim said he was in bed when his dog started growling. When he got up to investigate, he came around the corner and saw what he believed were two teen boys exiting through the home’s sliding glass doors. When the victim confronted them on the patio, the suspects ran and got into an older model SUV.
