Minnesota Communities came together in June to help in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
Through the work of Sterling pharmacies from 17 locations in Minnesota and two in Iowa, $16,032 was raised through customer donation.
Adding to that, the Astrup Family Foundation offered to double every dollar donated in a Sterling store bringing the total to $32,064, all of which will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The Astrup Family Foundation was founded in the name of Sterlings founder Leonard Astrup by his wife Corrine, their children and grandchildren. They saw it as a way to give back to the communities they served.
Leonard himself passed away in June of 2014 after his own battle with Alzheimer’s.
