The Fourth of July is the second holiday on which Herald subscribers won’t receive a daily paper.

On May 1, the Austin Daily Herald switched to a morning publication after years of being an evening paper. The Herald also moved it’s weekend edition from Sunday to Saturday.

The changes came as deliveries are now almost entirely made through the U.S. Postal Service. The newspaper has been placed in mailboxes with regular mail delivery and also hits business racks by 8 a.m.

But with that change, the Herald no longer prints holiday editions on the following holidays this year and in future years:

•New Year’s Day

•Martin Luther King Jr. Day

•Washington’s Birthday

•Memorial Day (May 29)

•Independence Day (July 4)

•Labor Day (Sept. 4)

•Columbus Day (Oct.9)

•Veterans Day (Nov. 10 )

•Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 23)

•Christmas Day (Dec. 25).

The Herald will still publish news online at www.austindailyherald.com those days.
