The Austin Post 1216 claimed a pair of wins on a steamy Saturday, defeating Apple Valley 8-7 and 7-6 at Marcusen Park.
Not only did they pick up the two wins but they did it in the home half of the seventh inning in both contests.
Michael O’Connor got the win in relief of starting pitcher Riley Wempner who went five and a third innings with two strikeouts and five hits.
O’Connor rounded out the game with a strikeout and gave up two hits.

Austin logged five hits including a towering two-run home run from Andrew Mueller over the left field fence.
In game two, Post 126 was led at the plate by Wempner, Nate Murphy and O’Connor who all had two hits.
Pitching duty was shared between a trio of pitchers with the win going to Dawson Mills taking the final two innings with a strikeout and a hit.
With the wins, Austin moves to 25-6 overall and 13-1 in District play.
Earlier in the week Austin beat Waseca 2-0 on the road Wednesday to lock up the No. 1 seed in the District.
It will host the Sub-District Tournament July 22 and 23 at Marcusen Park.
