County fair season has arrived!
The Fillmore County Fair will kick off this week and run from July 18-23 at the Fairgrounds in Preston, Minnesota. This year marks the 160th Fillmore County Fair, put on by the Fillmore County Agricultural Society.
“[The Fillmore County Fair is a] great example of people’s talents and hard work, both young and old,” said Kathy Tesmer, secretary of the Fillmore County Agricultural Society Board of Directors.
The Fair begins on Tuesday, July 18, with several 4-H related activities.
The 4-H activities continue on Wednesday, July 19, along with livestock judging and go-kart racing.
Two new events will be introduced on Thursday, July 20: a tractor pull and wine tasting courtesy of 4 Daughters Vineyard and Winery.
A goat and sheep show will be held on Friday, July 21, followed by the Triple B Rodeo.
Saturday, July 22, will feature Wild Things Zoo Attractions and a Demolition Derby, and a live auction will be held on Sunday, June 23.
“It is a safe, happy place for family fun,” Tesmer said.
