Austin man facing possible drug, weapons charges

An Austin man is in police custody after police found 5.8 grams of methamphetamine and a nine-millimeter firearm in his home.

According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, Austin police, Mower County Sheriff’s deputies, members of the Austin/Mower Special Incident Response Team and the Southeast Minnesota Violent Crimes Enforcement Team arrested Jesse Kranz, 32, after executing a search warrant on his residence at 7:22 a.m. Friday in the 1900 block of First Avenue Northeast. Police found the drugs and the weapon inside.

Kranz is in the Mower County Jail and faces potential charges of felony fifth-degree drug possession and felony violent felon in possession of a firearm.
