The GMLOKS track and field team qualified nine athletes for the Minnesota Class A state track and field meet at the Section 1A finals in Elgin Thursday.

The GMLOKS 4 x 200-meter relay team of Katelyn Luthe, Emily Hovden, Riley Queensland and Lauren Buchholtz took first to get to state and the 4 x 100-meter relay team of Luthe, Hovden, Kassidy Kirtz and Isabelle Olson advanced to state by taking third and finishing under the cut time.

Amelia Staat made it to state in the 800-meter run with a second place finish, GMLOKS junior Drew Lewison took first in the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles to earn his first trip to state, and senior Peter Torkelson earned a trip to state for the for the second straight year by taking second in the 1600-meter run.
