Jellystone Park Campground was briefly evacuated this weekend after threats were made against it.

According to Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi, officers responded to a call at Jellystone Park Campground at 21943 630th Ave. at 11:02 a.m. Saturday. A ranger reported getting a phone call, which sounded like a recording, from someone with a Middle Eastern accent. The caller allegedly stated there were bombs and explosives, set to detonate at noon, placed around the campground and under campers, then ended the call with “Praise Allah.” The caller ID showed a five-digit number with pound signs.

About 100 people were evacuated from the campground. Police and sheriff departments from Olmsted County and Rochester searched the grounds with bomb-sniffing dogs.
