Seven AHS students earn spots in All-State

Seven Austin High School students were selected as All-State picks in choir, band or orchestra.

In early March, music students from all over the state of Minnesota participated in All-State auditions. The students with the best auditions were invited to be a part of either All-State Choir, Band, or Orchestra through participation in All-State Camp in early August and a performance at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis in mid-February.

Those selected to be a part of  All-State groups, include Emma Andersen, orchestra, violin; Charles Kanne, orchestra, viola; Thomas Walker, orchestra, cello; Brock Lawhead, orchestra, violin; Eleanor Hinchcliffe, orchestra, viola; Wayde Hall, band, tuba; and Owen Culbert, choir.’

“Being selected for All-State is a true honor,” says AHS Orchestra Director Gene Schott. “Each of these students has worked incredibly hard, and it’s an amazing opportunity for them.”
