Judy K. Nygren

Judy K. Nygren, 72, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at her home in Buffalo City, Wisconsin.

Judy K. Kruckeberg was born March 12, 1945, in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, to Herman and Harriet (Hunter) Kruckeberg. She grew up in the Blooming Prairie area and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School. On Aug. 20, 1978, Judy was united in marriage to William “Bill” Nygren in Lansing, Minnesota. Judy and Bill purchased the Windrift Lounge in Austin in 1979, and retired to Buffalo City in 2004. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed making baby quilts for her family and friends. Judy also spent her leisure time reading, and especially loved spending Christmas with the family. They will miss her dearly.

Judy is survived by her husband, Bill Nygren of Buffalo City; her daughter, Kim (Brian) Bakken; four grandchildren, Trevor, Zach, Lauren, and Hannah; one great-grandchild, Zavi; her sisters, Connie (Mike) Leighton of Florida and Debbie (Daryl) Nelson of Blooming Prairie; daughter-in-law, Jolynn Koster; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Harriet Kruckeberg; and two sons, Jim and Jeff Koster.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin, followed by burial at the Blooming Prairie City Cemetery. The Nygren family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, immediately preceding the service.
