Jean Floyd Clark, 83

Jean Floyd Clark, 83, St. Cloud, Minnesota, died peacefully Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at his home in St. Cloud.

Jean was born Aug. 18, 1933, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to Leroy O. and Hattie (Gerhke) Clark. He graduated from Austin High School in 1952 and attended Austin Community College for two years. Jean married Betty J. Dudas on Oct. 4, 1953, in Austin. He worked for Kinsman Greenhouse, Austin, before moving to St. Cloud in 1956 and opened Northside Floral and Greenhouse with his wife, Betty.

In 1978 they opened Southway Greenhouse and Floral and operated the business until 2014. Jean’s legacy continued when he sold the business to his employee and friend, Jackie Notch, and her husband Tom. Jean was passionate about his work as a grower in the greenhouse business and enjoyed many hours of work and conversation with his employees and customers. His love for plants and flowers will continue to blossom at Southway Greenhouse and Floral. A special thank you to Kari Dombrovski for her friendship and many hours of assistance over the last 37 years. The family would also like to thank CentraCare Hospice and Joyful Assistants for their unyielding assistance and genuine caring for Jean.
