Hounds drop opener to Northfield Knights

The Austin Greyhounds opened up their amateur baseball season with an 8-4 loss against the Northfield Knights on the road Wednesday night.
Northfield took the lead early when it scored six runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Josh Evans was one-for-two with two RBIs for
Austin and Alex Ciola, Tyler Nelson and Nate Conner all had two hits.
The Hounds have a busy summer ahead of themselves and they’ll play under new lights at Marcusen Park. Austin has an opportunity to play at Target Field and it will host the SpamTown Challenge June 22-25.
“We’re looking forward to an outstanding season,” Hounds co-manager John Frein said. “We’re in a new section, which will make for an interesting race this season.”
