Project Graduation is an all-night party for Austin-area graduates from Austin High School, Pacelli High School, and home school families. The event follows commencement at the Austin High School from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Friday, June 9. Included in the cost of registration are unlimited food and beverages, exciting entertainment, many great prizes, and a variety of fun games and activities. Registration is currently $50 through the last day of school, then $60 at the door. Registration takes place at the Austin High School cashier’s office. Scholarships are available, if needed, by asking the cashier or your school counselor.

Project Graduation volunteer parents would like to express our sincere appreciation for the extremely generous contributions and support we have already received from so many community businesses and organizations, as well as individuals. Your donations allow us to provide the entertainment, prizes, and refreshments to each person that attends and ensure Project Graduation takes place each year. Thank you!

Project Graduation is run by approximately 120 volunteers every year, and each volunteer is an integral part of making Project Graduation successful. Some volunteers began planning the event in January, and they and many other volunteers will serve at the event on June 9. Additional volunteers are always welcome.

To volunteer, please contact Project Grad 2017 co-chairwomen Cathy Hirst or Deb Goodew at hirstdc8@gmail.com or dsgoodew@gmail.com. Volunteering at Project Graduation is considered a “pay-it-forward opportunity,” with parents of ninth-, 10th-, and 11th-graders volunteering so that senior parents may enjoy their student’s senior year and graduation.

However, it is such a fun way to volunteer that some parents of seniors continue with Project Graduation their child’s senior year. In addition, many volunteers choose to return year after year, saying that volunteering at Project Graduation is extremely rewarding because of seeing the seniors have such a great time as they celebrate the milestone of graduation. And many parents are grateful for the safe environment provided by Project Graduation while seniors are having fun at the event.

Once again, thank you to all the community members and parents that have donated items, services, or money; have donated your time; or will be donating your time and energy to make Projection Graduation another successful, fun night for Austin-area graduates.
