A return to the Fireside Dinner Theatre

A return trip to the village of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, was our most recent destination. There, they celebrate 40 years of fantastic musicals at the Fireside Dinner Theatre with a reputation as the Midwest’s finest entertainment.

During this last visit, we saw “South Pacific” one of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most celebrated shows.

This show comes to life with its awesome scenery and stunning costumes. This theater is unique in that it’s played in the round. The humor, along with fabulous dancing and music, kept us  humming well after the production. Our formal dining was a themed buffet with a Far East setting. Prior to the dinner and the show, the shops and bakery invite us all to come and browse.

Plans are set for a return visit to this southern Wisconsin theater for the opening night of its Christmas production.

The dates for “Miracle on 34th Street” are set for Nov. 2-3. We will also attend an after show reception to meet the cast. This show is written by Meredith Wilson, the creator of “The Music Man.”
