The public is invited to an open house Tuesday in Austin to learn more about the replacement of the 11th Drive Northeast bridge over Interstate 90.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation will host a meeting on the $2.97 million project from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Austin City Hall, 500 Fourth Ave. NE. Lunda Construction, the contractor for the job, as well as MnDOT officials and others will be on hand to talk about the project, including timelines, detours and scope of the project.
The bridge over I-90 is scheduled to be replaced beginning May 15 and is expected to be done in early October. Work includes grading, paving, bridge replacement, and shared use trail and drainage improvements. The new bridge will be widened to accommodate two 12-foot lanes, two 8-foot shoulders and a 10-foot sidewalk. The existing roadway alignment will remain the same.
