Lyle-Pacelli softball team opens its season with a win over Glenville-Emmons

The Lyle-Pacelli softball team opened up its season with a 13-3 win in six innings over Glenville-Emmons (4-1 overall) in Todd Park Tuesday.
Miranda Arkells picked up the win the circle for the Athletics (1-0 overall) as she struck out five and allowed just four hits.
Whitney Walkup had three hits for LP and Danielle Hinz and Faith King each had two hits.
LP scored three runs in the second to go up 6-3 and it added another three run inning in the fourth to go up 10-3.
“We started out a little jittery but then we settled down and the girls just ran the bases being aggressive,” LP head coach Jeff Yocom said. “I’m very happy with the girls as they have been working hard and finally got to show it.”
