Lloyd William Hardecopf, 80, of LeRoy, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2017, at the Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa, Arizona, due to respiratory failure.
Lloyd was born Dec. 6, 1936, in rural Dexter, Minnesota, to William C. and Rachel K. Hardecopf (Julson). He grew up on the family farm and attended the Adams Public School. Lloyd joined the U.S. Air Force and met Alice Pearson while on active duty and they were married on Oct. 4, 1958. Together they raised three children, Jill Kathryn (Duane) Burton of Kasson, Minnesota, Jay Hardecopf of LeRoy, Minnesota, and Jon (Debbie) Hardecopf of Puyallup, Washington.
Lloyd is also survived by a sister, Pearl Finseth of Fountain, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Michael Burton, Joshua (Jennifer) Burton, Nikki (Dan) Dahl, Jade Hardecopf (Andy Foster), Kalin and Lindsey Hardecopf; and six great-grandchildren, Regan Reker, Piper Dahl, Tayven Foster, Sydney Burton, Graysen and Eva Burton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Neal, and four sisters, Wilma, Marion, Esther, and Dorothy.
Lloyd was a man who had a passion for the three “F’s” in his life, family, farming, and friends. Whenever Lloyd and Alice had plans to travel and visit family, he was always ready an hour ahead of Alice. Heaven has gained a hardworking angel and he will be forever remembered in our thoughts and prayers.
