Hayfield baseball team opens season with a bang

The Hayfield baseball team opened its season with a 22-2 in five innings win over Triton (1-1 overall, 1-1 HVL) in Riverland Community College in Austin Thursday.

The Vikings (1-0 overall, 1-0 HVL) pounded out 19 hits in the win as Dominic Dublin had five RBIs and Adam Fjerstad knocked in three runs.

“The wind was blowing straight in and we really did earn it,” Hayfield head coach Kasey Krekling said. “We hit the ball very well. Hopefully that continues.”
