Dorothy Wilma Cafourek, 101

Dorothy Wilma (Prihoda) Cafourek, 101, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.

Dorothy was born on April 16, 1916 in London Township, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Cerny) Prihoda. She attended Anderson School. On Nov. 1, 1934, she was united in marriage to Milo Cafourek in Austin. The couple farmed for over 40 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Glenville, the Eagles Auxiliary, and the Royal Neighbors of America. Dorothy was a faithful Minnesota Twins fan and enjoyed playing bingo and cribbage. She wintered in Texas for 20 years.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Patricia (Dale) Peters, Sandra (Harold ‘Butch’) Steene, Ken (Susan) Cafourek, and Diane (Wesley) Webb; grandchildren: Todd (Ronda) Cooling, Michael (Steven Luce) Cooling, Tara Phelps, RaNae Steene, Melanie (Curt Aldrich) Nelson, Emerlee (Bruce) Stilley, Stephanie (Robert) Hackney, Melissa Cafourek, Ryan (Stacy) Cafourek, Lisa (Randy) Hunter, Darren Adams, Bradley (Janice) Adams, and Matthew (Jessie) Webb; 25 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lois Prihoda; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 68 years, Milo; brothers, Jack (Elizabeth) Prihoda, Clarence (Sophie) Prihoda, and Floyd Prihoda; sister, Loretta (Milo) Prantner; sons-in-law, Roger Cooling and Danny Adams; grandson-in-law, Ray Phelps; granddaughters, Tracy Schilling and Kayla Steene; sisters-in-law, Francis (Art) Baley, Helen (John) Kermes, Agnes (Bohumil) Bouda, Bessie (Leonard) Gute, Beulah (Ray) Nelson, Kate (Ignace) Cherney and brother-in-law, Loy (Bertha) Cafourek.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at First Lutheran Church in Glenville, Minnesota. Rev. Nancy Hansen will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 24 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
