Donna (Thomsen) Dahlgren, 89, of Austin, Minnesota, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin.
Donna was born Sept. 10, 1927, at home in Lyle, Minnesota, to George and Helen (Johnson) Eastlee. She was the youngest of three sisters and one brother. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lyle. She attended elementary school in Lyle and Austin High School.
On Jan. 16, 1945, Donna married Robert (Bobby) Thomsen and to this union, three sons were born, Robert, Craig and Marc. Together they started the Mower County Shopper in 1964 and continued until the business was sold in 1975. They retired and lived in Arizona for a while and then returned to Austin. Robert died on Dec. 23, 1991.
On Sept. 4, 1994, Donna married Richard Dahlgren. She loved being with her family and enjoyed playing bridge, golf, doing crossword puzzles and vacationing in Arizona during the winters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert Thomsen; second husband, Richard Dahlgren in 2013; one brother; three sisters; and two nephews.
Donna is survived by her three sons, Robert (Ruth) Thomsen, Brownsville, Minnesota, Craig (Dawn) Thomsen, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and Marc (Cindy) Thomsen, Elk Grove, Illinois; grandchildren, Chad Thomsen, Brian Thomsen, Elizabeth Thomsen, Andrew Thomsen, R. Daniel Thomsen and Kari Thomsen; and two great-grandchildren, Payton Thomsen and Sam Thomsen.
A private family service has been held. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin with Todd Portinga officiating.
