Cornelia B. Felty, 90

Cornelia B. Felty, 90, formerly of Brownsdale, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, surrounded by her family at Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River, Minnesota.

She was born March 16, 1927 in Hollandale, Minnesota, to John and Cornelia (Den Hartig) Bonnes. Cornelia, along with her husband, Mervin, owned and operated Felty Trucking and the Dutch Inn Café in Brownsdale, where she was manager, chef, and baker. She later worked as a cook at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, Minnesota, until her retirement. Cornelia was a special person who, despite numerous challenges throughout her life, always displayed a kind and gentle spirit with a touch of Dutch tenacity.

Cornelia is survived by her loving children, daughter, Carol Ault and son, James (Dee) Felty; grandchildren, Timothy (Christie) Ault, Brandon (Lisa) Ault, and Jessica (Matt) McDaniel; step-grandchildren, Ross Dukette, Lindsay (Dan) Ciavattone, and Melissa (Bill) Norton; great-grandchildren, Kaylea (Kelson Richmond) Ault, Alannah Ault, Logan Ault, Ben Ciavattone; sisters-in-law, Muryne and Arlene Bonnes; one brother-in-law, Frank (Lois) Felty; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mervin Felty; five brothers, Henry (Bertha), John, Andrew (Viola), Maynard, Merle Bonnes; sister, Engel (Mack) Ravenhorst; her in-laws, Vern and Helen Felty; brother-in-law, Sidney (Lillian) Felty; sister-in-law, Shirley (Dave) Orth; and step-brother, Reuben (Audrey) Schmidt.

A special thanks to her niece, Bertha Ross, and friend, Elaine Stulc, for their loving support. Thanks also goes out to her Allina Hospice team for their caring support.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Brownsdale, 206 Main St. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Lunch will be served immediately following the service. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, 19143 U.S. Highway 218 South, Austin, Minnesota, following the lunch. Anyone wishing to attend the burial is welcome.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the First Baptist Church of Brownsdale or recipient of donor’s choice.
