The Hayfield baseball team lost its fourth straight game when it fell 6-5 to Zumbrota-Mazeppa (2-3 overall, 2-2 HVL) on the road Tuesday.

With senior Brady Dahl still out with an injury, Hayfield (2-4 overall, 1-3 HVL) put a freshman pitcher on the mound for the third time this season as Luke Dudycha took the loss in his first ever varsity start.

“The freshmen are getting put to the test. They’re keeping us in the game and we’ve just got to find a way to win the close ones,” Hayfield head coach Kasey Krekling said.
