A 16-year-old male was arrested in Austin on Tuesday by Duluth authorities after a pound of marijuana was found in his possession.

The juvenile was not identified and his formal address was not immediately known, said Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger.

Austin police assisted the Duluth Police Department in the execution of a search warrant of a residence on the 500 block of Sixth Avenue Southeast in Austin. The search occurred just after 6 p.m.

Also found was $1,200 in cash and a handgun.

Krueger said the case is unrelated to any investigation being conducted in Austin and that the local department was acting only in a support capacity.

The teenager was transported to a Rochester juvenile facility, said Krueger.
