Austin First United Methodist Church has joined hands with Austin Aspires, which was created by the Vision 2020 Education Leaders Committee, in an effort to support preschool children and their families.
FUMC is purchasing 700 Kindergarten Readiness Kits that will be given to the preschoolers and their families when the children are screened for kindergarten. The kits contain materials designed to enhance early learning as well as suggestions for the involvement of parents and other family members in the learning activities. Once the materials are received, members of First UMC will be putting the kits together. First United Methodist Church members are working to support children and families in a variety of ways. Suggestions are welcomed, by calling 433-8839.
