Two arrested for meth following traffic stop

A vehicle stopped for expired registration led to the arrests on Monday of two people who allegedly had drugs in their possession.

Christopher Rickerl, 22, of Austin, and Sylvia Cramer, 30, of St. Paul, were taken into custody by Austin police and are awaiting formal charges in the Mower County Jail.

According to the report, a vehicle was stopped at 1:50 a.m. on the 100 block of Fourth Street Northeast. Rickerl and Cramer were passengers in the vehicle.

When the stop was initiated, the driver consented to a search of the vehicle, which led to the discovery of needles and 2.31 grams of methamphetamine, contained in small bags.

Rickerl was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The driver was not charged.
